TripAdvisor Recommended Accommodation in North Lewis
Cabuzana Bed and Breakfast is situated in the Ness area of the Isle of Lewis - the most northerly district in the Western Isles - on the A857 Stornoway to Port of Ness road and some 24 miles north of Stornoway.
We are only a five-minute drive from the Butt of Lewis, renowned for its iconic Butt of Lewis Lighthouse, varied birdlife, seals and the occasional passing dolphins, whales or basking sharks. We are also ideally placed to provide a comfortable bed and a hearty breakfast for those hardy souls who have completed the formidable challenge of the Hebridean Way Cycling Route, which runs the length of the Western Isles, through 10 islands, and has become extremely popular since being launched in March 2016.
Cabuzana Bed and Breakfast is only approximately a half-hour drive from Stornoway Ferry Terminal and some forty minutes from Stornoway Airport. It is an ideal base from which to explore Lewis, including such attractions as the world-famous Callanish Standing Stones; the ancient Dun Carloway Broch; the restored thatched cottages of Gearrannan Blackhouse Village; the unique Arnol Blackhouse Museum and many more.
The area is blessed with numerous pristine beaches, bordered by sandy machair land with its unique flora - a well signposted coastal walk provides easy access to these stunning sights. Loch Stiapabhat Local Nature Reserve, the first of its kind in the Western Isles, is highly popular with bird-watchers and, for those interested in the history and culture of the area, a visit to the excellent museum and archive at Comunn Eachdraidh Nis (Ness Historical Society) and St Moluag's Church, dating back to the 12th century, is a must.
